How to arrange a luxury trip to Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is one of the most exciting cities of Brazil. Plenty of its landmarks with beaches, beautiful mountains and Carnival festival account for popularity of this place among tourists. Legendary Ipanema is the best the city can offer. Ipanema and Copacabana beaches are known all over the world. If you remember famous Bossa Nova song “Girl from Ipanema”, you can feel the spirit of the place. A pleasant relaxing fusion of samba and jazz ideally reflects it.

The symbol of the city is the Statue of Christ the Redeemer, which is recognized one of the seventh wonders of the world, is a peak of Corcovado mountain within the Tijuca Forest National Park. The 33-meter statue was built in 1931. Tijuca Forest National Park is the biggest urban forest in the world – it covers 32 square kilometers. Annually it attracts 1,5 million visitors. There are caves, waterfalls and viewing platforms in the Tijuca Forest.

Look at Rio from the top of Pedra Bonita Mountain, which is 700 meters high. Those who are adrenaline junky, can try gliding, paragliding and hang gliding. There are schools of extreme sports in the city.

Apart from the Christ the Redeemer statue, there are other interesting landmarks of Rio: cathedrals, colonial fortresses, Maracanã Stadium, Jardim Botanico, lush botanical garden, museums in downtown and etc.

If you want to try avant-garde cuisine, you should go to Oro. It features nice design of bricks and wood. The chef of Oro loves to experiment with acai – Amazonian berry that is served with foie gras or tempura fish and other ingredients.

The gastronomical tour will not be full without mention of Portuguese dining venues such as Confeitaria Colombo, located in the historic center of Rio de Janeiro. The bakery was founded in 1894 by Portuguese immigrants. Its waffles are a local legend. Try pastries stuffed with shrimp and chicken in Confeitaria Colombo. Come to this place to see opulent side of city life. The same refers to Irajá Gastrô, Humaitá, where you can try Brazilian classics with a modern twist.
